244th Anniversary Memorial Service of The Battle of Point Pleasant

List of Activities and Events – Colonial attire is encouraged at all events but is not mandatory.
Friday, October 5th, 7:30 PM - Candlelight Tour of Battle Monument
Beginning at 7:30 pm at Tu-Endie-Wei State Park, and continuing every fifteen minutes until 9:30 pm there will be a candlelight tour of the Battle Monument featuring speakers commemorating the important persons and moments of “The Battle”.
Saturday, October 6th, 11:00 AM – Battle Days Parade
The parade will commence at 11:00 am on Main Street beginning at 10th Street and proceeding to Tu-Endie-Wei State Park.
Saturday, October 6th, 6:00 pm - Colonial Governor’s Reception and Ball
The receptions and ball will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Annex Hall located at 2222 Jackson Avenue in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. Colonial attire is encouraged but not mandatory. Pre-registration is requested and the fee for the meal is $25.00 per person (see form below).
Following the Colonial Governor’s Reception there will be a Colonial Ball at 8:00 pm held at the same location. Colonial attire is encouraged but not mandatory. This event is free of charge.
Sunday, October 7th, 10:00 am - Outdoor Early Colonial Church Service
There will be an outdoor Early Colonial Church Service conducted at the Tue-Endi-Wei State Park.
Sunday, October 7th, 12:30 pm - Luncheon
A luncheon will be served for Compatriots and their ladies / guest at 12:30 pm at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Annex Hall at 2222 Jackson Avenue, Point Pleasant, West Virginia. Pre-registration is requested and the fee for the meal is $25.00 (see form below).
Sunday, October 7th, 2:00 pm - The Memorial Service
This service, conducted at Tui-Endie-Wei State Park, commemorates and honors the fallen of The Battle of Point Pleasant. Guest Speaker will be Tim Ward, Vice President General of the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution.
State Presidents, their compatriots, Color Guard units, Daughters of the American Revolution and Children of the American Revolution will be in attendance at this formal ceremony. The general public is welcome to attend.
Immediately following The Memorial Service there will be a “Wreath Laying Ceremony”. NSSAR Rules of Protocol will be followed in presenting “The Colors” and the “Wreaths”. The wreaths will be placed at The Magazine within Tui-Endie-Wei State Park where the bodies of the honored fallen rest in eternity.
NOTE: These events are organized by the Point Pleasant Chapter SAR and the Colonial Governor’s Reception and the Luncheon require a separate reservation and payment.
